Kai's Command

There had been an intense but brief invasion. I missed it in the mayhem, but evidently evidence was given that the invaders were tied to V'Tull. This is a clip of one of my locates to show what was invading:

The grassy sward sways gently, dancing as a slight breeze carries over the meadow. The peacefulness of the moment is lost quickly, however, as the harsh, guttural voices of hobgoblins are carried on the wind. After the fighting died down, some people were gathered in the Hearthstone courtyard discussing the events, which led to a commune with Kai.

Before you stands a grand old manor, framed by huge willows to the east and west. The elegant trees sway gently, dappling the cobblestone courtyard with ever-shifting patterns of light and dark. Snippets of conversation drift away from the long porch stretching along the full width of the great old house, as several guests enjoy the hospitality and ambience of this fine hideaway. You ask, "You want more attention that this?"

You say, "V'Tull simply loves a bloodbath now and then."

Titaniia says, "If V'tull is involved we might wanna speak ta someone in Liabo, Danay."

You say, "They know."

Titaniia says, "Of course they know..but they might be able ta help us."

Titaniia grumbles.

Armaxis says, "That would be...suicide. If V'tull is watching, he could send more minionsss through that link..."

Armaxis says, "So...go ahead and do it."

Armaxis smiles quietly to himself.

Wariquan nods to Armaxis.

You ask, "Why would they interfere?"

Titaniia scowls at Armaxis.

Morandas says, "lets see if i can commune to lorminstra then"

Morandas cackles!

Rtune nods to Morandas.

Wariquan glares.

Morandas says, "now where should i do this"

Rtune says, "do it"

Wariquan says, "V'Tull wont have that"

Titaniia says, "Lorminstra has helped us afore when Luukos was botherin us."

Wyseth says, "As a guess Kai might be a better choice"

Sheets of heavy rain drown you in an unrelenting curtain of water.

Wariquan fiddles with his glaes V'tull symbol, turning it to display its engraving of a black scimitar on a background of red. The symbol flickers with a blood-red glow at his touch.

Titaniia says, "Kai would be a good choice."

Ranil says, "Damnable weather."

Armaxis says, "There is no guarantee on who will answer, but I'm thinking V'tull's influence is rather strong here right now if a group of hisss minions showed up to battle."

You ask, "No one is a good choice, why would they step in his way?"

Morandas asks, "Can i get absolute quiet please?"

Daedrek just touched a weathered black sea serpent harness imbedded with a silver V'Tull symbol.

Titaniia says, "Acause they care 'bout us."

Fisdan says, "I'd bet it's a worth tryin' ta see what ee was afta."

Fisdan nods to Armaxis.

You say, "You are all daft."

Titaniia snorts at you.

Armaxis asks, "Mm, no. Foolish, yes, but why can't Lornon benefit from their hastiness?"

Morandas says, "Communing, please lets have silence"

Wariquan glances at Morandas.

You roll your eyes.

Titaniia blinks at Morandas.

Mnar asks, "Why are we communing?"

Traylyn shudders.

(Archvile bows his head)

Traylyn says, "never a good thing"

Titaniia asks, "Ta who?"

Wariquan asks, "to who?"

Morandas says, "Fine folks"

Titaniia says, "Ifn yer gonna commune ta Kai, go ta his shrine."

Wariquan says, "hes camunin to that women"

You say, "And find one of his clerics."

Wariquan shakes his head.

Morandas says, "cant commune to kai with a lorminstra symbol now can we"

Titaniia gazes in wonder at her surroundings.

Wariquan says, "cant comune to lorminstra ."

You say, "V'Tull is keeping Lorminstra in business right now."

Mnar says, "I don't think you can commune to Kai at all."

Titaniia says, "Harmonius is a cleric of Kai."

Wariquan nods.

Armaxis says, "And the Serpent..."

Armaxis nods to you.

A heavy drizzle trickles down from the grey skies.

Titaniia says, "Wonder where he be."

Titaniia works her fingers under her silver alloy circlet and scratches her head.

(Time passes....)

Harmonius just arrived.

Harmonius grunts. How charming.

Harmonius says, "looks like I missed all the fun"

Titaniia exclaims, "ahha!"

Titaniia says, "There be a cleric of Kai now."

Titaniia points at Harmonius.

Harmonius asks, "eh?"

Harmonius peers quizzically at Titaniia.

Titaniia says, "Them attackers was from V'tull."

Harmonius asks, "they were, were they?"

Titaniia says, "We was thinkin Kai would know what they was up to."

Harmonius grumbles.

Titaniia says, "They was prayin to th' god of war."

Harmonius says, "Kai wont be pleased with me for not fighting them"

You say, "I hit one for you."

You grin at Harmonius.

Harmonius grins at you.

Harmonius says, "Thanks Danay"

You say, "Only one...and then it whacked me silly."

Harmonius exclaims, "Well!"

Morandas says, "I kinda just stood around cackling"

You say, "It had a claid."

Armaxis says, "I had to fry a few on my way to the gates. They tried to jump on me."

You mutter something inaudible.

Titaniia asks, "So..you think mebbe you could commune ta yer god an' ask him 'bout what V'tull is after an' if we in danger?"

Harmonius rubs a black leather-handled claidhmore.

Titaniia peers quizzically at Harmonius.

Harmonius nods to Titaniia.

Harmonius says, "Certainly. I have never called on my Lord before"

A sudden gust blows the rain at you in a stinging attack.

(Daedrek gazes up into the dark sky, relishing in the downpour.)

Titaniia asks, "Where you wanna does it, Harmonius?"

Harmonius asks, "Whats wrong with now?"

Titaniia says, "I said where"

Harmonius says, "Join me for Kai's shrine"

Titaniia grins.

Durath says, "Thats a bright idea, ask an evil god why he is trying to kill you"

Armaxis says, "This'll be entertaining."

Harmonius babbles something unintelligible.

Junis gazes up into the heavens.

Titaniia says, "Kai ain evil"

You exclaim, "Bah! You are fools!"

You say, "But if Kai comes I have to see."

Harmonius cocks his head at you.

You join Harmonius.

Titaniia says, "Then you better come an' tell us you tole us so."

Harmonius grins at you.

Titaniia nods to you.

Titaniia says, "Join Harmonius fer th' commune."

Armaxis says, "You'll be at ground zero when V'tull slaughtersss us all."

Armaxis nods to you.

You nod to Armaxis.

You mutter something inaudible.

Snow white vultite walls tower high overhead in this eight-sided room, their enormous size dwarfing only slightly the magnificent granite statue that stands in the center of the structure. Softly colored light filters in from huge stained glass windows set into each wall, creating a kaleidoscope of color dancing across the rich grey slate floors.

look stat A warrior of magnificent size and strength stands proudly in the center of the room.

The heroic figure, carved from a single block of pale grey granite, towers to a height of nearly twenty breathtaking feet. Though his face is youthful, his gaze is that of one who has unflinchingly confronted even the mightiest of foes. One mighty hand clutches a fel-wood spear tipped with gleaming adamantine, raised warily against some unseen foe.

Perhaps the most remarkable feature of this granite god is his left hand. Clenched in a tight fist that betrays both stern inner resolve as well as intense ferocity, you can almost imagine it crushing the last breath out of any enemy.

Harmonius says, "Kai, Thou art composed of all that is just and right in War"

Harmonius exclaims, "Thy enemy V'tull, is unreason, storm and fear. Help us oppose Him!"

You smile quietly to yourself.

Armaxis says, "He must be the strong, silent type."

Harmonius exclaims, "In battle we call on Thee to steady our hands, and make our strokes clean and swift. Not for us the madness and frenzy of the storm-lord! We reject utterly His way, and embrace Thee!"

Harmonius exclaims, "Sire!"

Harmonius bows.

The room seems to echo with merry laughter.

You survey the area.

Harmonius says, "We...we hoped to have Thy aid and advice! "

Harmonius exclaims, "The arrow does not strike the target if the wielder is blind!"

Harmonius slowly empties his lungs.

You shift your weight.

(Harmonius keeps his head lowered, his left hand clenching and unclenching.)

(Jauckha gazes up enough to look at the Great statue's feet)

Junis gazes in wonder at his surroundings.

A deep chuckle echoes from the granite walls. "Well, ask then!", a clear voice booms.

Xenosphere grins.

You try hard not to grin.

(Jauckha jumps)

Harmonius blushes a glowing shade of red.

Harmonius clears his throat.

(Arathorne keeps her head lowered.)

Jauckha gulps.

Armaxis examines his fingernails.

Maxll just arrived.

Harmonius asks, "O Kai, grant us Thy wisdom! How may we best defeat these minions of V'Tull, the berserkers!?"

The statue seems to tap its foot impatiently. Or was that just a trick of the light?

Rtune asks something in Halfling.

Maxll blinks a few times and then opens his eyes and looks around.

Maxll sits up.
Maxll moves to a kneeling position.

Wyseth asks, "Kai...we seek to engage our foe even as you do the gods of darkness.. where can we find them rather then allowing them to find our fields and homes when we are not there?"

Maxll stands up.

Lord Maxll just went out. (No comment)

You say, "I think we merely amuse the great Lord."

Syrna nods.

Syrna stands up.

Harmonius just nudged you.

Harmonius exclaims, "it is His way!"

(Armaxis stares into the statue's eyes for a brief moment, then turns his attention to the night sky.)

You smile.

A soft chuckle echoes through the chamber.

(Titaniia shoots a glare at Armaxis, keeping her head bowed reverently.)

(Jauckha seems shaken by the aura given off by the statue)

(Arathorne keeps her head respectfully lowered.)

Harmonius exclaims, "We are simple warriors here. Wield us as you would, O Kai!"

Titaniia places a hand over her heart.

Harmonius asks, "What does V'tull seek and how might we stop Him?"

(Armaxis glances over at Titaniia for a moment, then turns back his cold, indifferent gaze to the statue.)

A bolt of lightning streaks down from the sky and strikes Armaxis!

... 15 points of damage! Shocking jolt to forehead. Painful.
He is stunned!

A tremendous crack of thunder follows instantly!

Titaniia whispers, "There be one of his enemies right here. Mayhaps he would enjoy watchin some bloodsport."

Xenosphere laughs!

You flash a wide grin.

You say, "I told you it was a bad idea for him to come here."

Armaxis says, "That was pleasant."

Harmonius glances at Armaxis.

Harmonius grunts. How charming.

Rtune furrows his brow.

(Armaxis pushes a strand of hair out of his face, his eyes narrowing.)

The voice booms out, almost laughing. "Not going to find them on your knees in the mud, are ye?"

You laugh out loud!

Junis chuckles.

Rtune stands up.

Titaniia asks, "Where would ya have us go, M'lord?"

Harmonius stands up.

Jauckha stands up.

Rtune squints.

Wyseth rolls to the left, then springs to his feet, ready again for action!

Xenosphere says, "was tieing my boots up"

Xenosphere stands up.

Titaniia stands up.

Arathorne stands up.

Junis yawns.

Xenosphere checks his footing.

(Jauckha flinches from the war wound)

Wyseth says, "Sitting at the feet of the Aktari to gain wisdom is traditional Lord Kai"

Wyseth nods.

(Arathorne bows respectfully to the statue.)

Harmonius says, "We kneel to prove ourselves humbled by Thy presence"

Harmonius says, "unlike some"

Harmonius glances at Armaxis.

Junis says, "I wouldna take offense, a good warrior always keeps their guard"

Junis shrugs.

Titaniia says, "Though I might wonder ifn Lord Kai wouldna prefer us ta wrassle."

You narrow your eyes.

Jauckha says, "the mud is where we defend our homes, our families, Great One"

Xenosphere asks, "Would ye tell us of these invaders M'lord Kai?"

Titaniia says, "Lord Kai, point us towards V'tull's minions an' we will go an' defend all that is good with sword an' blood."

Rtune says something in Halfling.

Harmonius nods to Titaniia.

Harmonius nods to Xenosphere.

(Armaxis interlaces his fingers around the scaly surface of his staff and continues to study the architecture of the shrine.)

Wyseth seems to be waiting for something.

The voice seems slightly more serious, though a slight chuckle seems to remain. "Ye mortals cannot go from whence they come. Take care your weapons, and guard your town well, and victory will be yours."

You smile quietly to yourself.

Jauckha sighs sadly.

(Harmonius frowns seriously.)

Wyseth asks, "Can you tell us their purpose.. or something that will sap their will to come here?"

Rtune nods.

Armaxis says, "Mm, I like hisss answer, yes."

(Junis leans towards Titaniia and whispers something to her)

Rtune chuckles.

Titaniia grins.

Wyseth raises his Dhe'nari blood wine in a toast!

Xenosphere raises his sonic longsword in triumph!

Rtune applauds.

Wyseth tips his head back and empties a glass of Dhe'nari blood wine down his gullet!

Junis shrugs.

Arathorne says, "Thank ye Lord Kai."

You say, "Your will be done Lord Kai."

Armaxis says, "I feel...itchy."

You stand back up.

Armaxis idly scratches himself on the neck.

A wave of power flows out of Titaniia and toward Armaxis who is surrounded by a soft white light.

Armaxis stares at Titaniia.

The faint chuckle fades away as the glow disperses.

The statue winks at you.

(Titaniia curtsies to the statue.)

Armaxis says, "I've already got a blessing of Kai, now I'm going to be up all night itching."

Armaxis scowls at a magnificent granite statue.

You grin.

Junis chuckles.

Harmonius bows.

Titaniia says, "That'll learn yas, snake-boy."

Harmonius says, "Join me for the Tavern"

(Arathorne bows low to the statue.)

Rtune bows to Harmonius.

(Danay absently rubs her dagger pendant)

Lord Xenosphere's group just went out.

Harmonius bows to Rtune.

Rtune says, "very well done "

Arathorne just hugged Harmonius.

Titaniia says, "A fine service, Harmonius"

Jauckha says, "thank you, Harmonius"

Arathorne says, "Well done, near brother."

Harmonius says, "thank you. Now, we must go and drink"

Armaxis says, "No wonder V'tull is more widely worshipped.."

Arathorne just kissed Harmonius on the cheek.

You nod to Harmonius.

Rtune says, "my apologies for speaking in hobbit"

Harmonius says, "For Kai himself has demanded it of us"

Armaxis says, "All Kai cares about is drinking and wrestling naked people..."

Rtune says, "but i find common very clumsy in these matters"

Titaniia exclaims, "Indeed!"

You say, "I am sure he understood you Rtune."

(Harmonius backs out of the shrine.)

You smile at Rtune.

Harmonius's group just went out.

[Lower Dragonsclaw, Summit]
In stunning contrast to the somewhat dull scenery below, the summit is a vivid study in color and light. Large rectangular talismans carved from pale grey granite ring the edges of the summit, like sentries guarding the precious grounds of this jewel among the heavens. Sunlight pierces through the clouds overhead, warming your aching bones, and carrying with it a faint promise of brighter days ahead. Set in the exact center of the circle, a tall octagonal building with an arch of pure granite beckons.
