Galenok on Ronan

[Temple of Ronan, Antechamber]
Black lambswool carpet covers the floor, cushioning every footfall and muting most sounds, creating a sense of suspended time and reality. Incense permeates the air with its fragrance of night-blooming jasmine and musk, while its small wisps of smoke dance in sensual abandon. You also see a wide passageway and a black velvet curtain.

Galenok says, "Well, let's begin then."

Galenok says, "Good evening. I am Galenok Drakefang and Charna has asked me to speak about Milord, Ronan. Oh, to be certain, there are many who are more qualified to speak about him than I. However, I do know a few things about Him that I shall pass along."

Galenok says, "Ronan is the true God of the Night, master of sleep and dreams. A member of the Liabo faction of the arkati, he follows Koar. He is the guardian of those who sleep from all things that would harm them, primarily nightmares sent by the dark arkati Sheru."

Galenok says, "Ronan is the most active foe of the Dark Gods of Lornon. Ronan is in constant strife with Sheru and Luukos as both Lornon gods claim some domain over territory that Ronan controls, or seeks to control. Sheru fer his intrusion upon sleep and dreams, and Luukos fer his assault on Ronan s realm with those who have failed to die cleanly and are now undead."

Galenok says, "I have served Ronan fer years now, and have been visited by avatars and messengers of his that he has sent. I serve him, now, by bein one of Chaeye's Blades. I served him before then and still do as a Dream Guardian."

Galenok says, "Bein a Guardian is a part of who I am. It is a talent and blessin as much as it is trainin. I won't bore ye with the finer details of my history, but I feel that sharing more of how I serve should prove more interestin than simply givin ye the basics of who Ronan is."

Galenok says, "I learned of this ability in a monastery that I spent some time at. It was located in the Elven Nations, between Ta'Illistim an Ta'Ardenai. I spent the night there and had an odd dream. I asked a brother to interpret it and he didn't finish fer six months."

Galenok says, "In that six months I was trained on what it was to guard the dreams of others. To watch them as they sleep, to meditate and feel what they feel. To sense when their dream is in danger of bein taken over by Sheru and turned towards a nightmare. How to combat that an prevent Sheru from invadin their sleep."

Galenok says, "Finally they could teach me no more an I moved on. Ronan summons me in both my dreams an physically. His dreams guide me to whom he wishes fer me to watch over an keep safe fer a time. Typically this is when the person is vulnerable or durin a tryin time in their life where they could succumb to the terror that is Sheru."

Galenok says, "I have guarded the dreams of commoners, merchants an nobility. The dreams of elves, giantkin, an humans I have felt. I have guarded some of those in this very room, too. I do not watch yer dream. I am not in yer dream. I can guard an sometimes guide yer dreams to prevent Sheru from comin. I can guide yer dream towards a subject but I can assure ye that it will always work."

Galenok says, "The talent works best by bein close to the subject. By bein a bard I can often perform this fer a stranger without them even knowin I was there. My songs aid me in inducing sleep an my bein a bard allows me to gain entrance where only a rogue could sneak. As I grow closer to a person, or with time, I can guard a dream over greater distances."

Galenok asks, "So, that is how I personally am in service to Milord. I share it because it shows a manner in which Ronan works. How he aids those who are in danger. Aye, there are many other ways as well to serve."

Galenok says, "Well, my pardons fer speakin so quickly, but it has been a time since I performed last. Tends to make me speak a bit too quickly. I'll give ye time to digest all that."

Galenok asks, "So, granted I gave only a brief view of who Ronan is. Mostly because I do nae presume to know him as a cleric might."
