Attack of the Killer Plants
Ta'Illistim 11/10/04
[Shimmarglin Inn, Lobby]
Imbued with a sense of great age, the interior of the Shimmarglin Inn is
both dim and chill. A thick crimson rug flows across the stone floor, its
bright rectangular expanse contrasting against the dark marble flagstones.
A pair of lancet-shaped windows frame the silver-inlaid oak doors leading
to the outside, their segmented panes casting a pale, filtered light across
the scarlet floor. The entire room feels calm and serene, sensations more
akin to a library than a public inn.

trickle of patrons flows through the inn's wide front doors, allowing a
short-lived flood of light into the court with each swing of the doors.
You also see a toxic daylily plant, a tainted bramble bush, a fan-tailed

signpost.

It seems you have died, my friend. Although you cannot do anything, you are keenly aware of what is going on around you...
You mentally give a sigh of relief as you remember that the Goddess Lorminstra owes you a favor.
...departing in 10 mins...
The periwinkle vine twists and turns almost gleefully.
DEAD> * Danay just bit the dust!
DEAD>You sigh softly, your ghostly voice a mere breath on the wind.
DEAD>Suddenly you have the strangest feeling that you are
being watched.
The feeling fades as quickly as it came.
DEAD>A cloud of dense silvery fog suddenly appears. The fog quickly dissipates to reveal Taedon.
DEAD>Taedon appears to be preparing to attempt dragging you.
Taedon gestures.
A wall of force surrounds Taedon.

The feeling fades as quickly as it came.
DEAD>A cloud of dense silvery fog suddenly appears.
The fog quickly dissipates to reveal Morgannia.
Taedon grabs you and drags you south.
[Ta'Illistim, Glamesine Var]
The ornate facade of a guild hall stands back from the var, clad in blue-grey
granite and carved in heavy relief. A wide variety of gargoyles grin from
their perches atop window embrasures, doorframes, and rainspouts. A few
gargoyles dance gleefully across the blue tiled rooftop as the moonlight
bathes their forms in silvery light. You also see an arrow and an ornate
sign.

DEAD> * Morgannia just bit the dust!
Speaking in Elven, you say, "Oh no."
DEAD>Taedon asks, "What?"
DEADSpeaking in Elven, you say, "Morgan came to me and died too."
Taedon grabs you and drags you east.
[Ta'Illistim, Glaendier Wey]
The few pedestrians about begin to disperse to the east and west, hurrying
towards their destinations. A lone wagon sits abandoned for the night. You
also see an ironwork signpost.

DEAD>Taedon says, "We'll get her."
Speaking in Elven, you say, "Those darn vines are nasty."
DEAD>Taedon says, "I know."
(Morgan and I both end up at the dais to get healing and resurrected. This cleric seems not only unsure of the Arkati and souls, but of how to tell the gender of elves too!)
DEAD>Medrak recites:
"Let us consider the possibility of some portion of the
Personality surviving the death of the body, and let us
Call this hypothetical quantity the "soul."
With that in mind, I ask that Danay's soul
Be reunited with his body forthwith.
I ask this as his chosen intermediary between himself
And that which may not be himself
But which may have some interest
In these proceedings. Amen."
DEAD>Medrak raises a hand while murmuring a soft orison...
DEAD>Medrak gestures at you.
Medrak suddenly looks very drained.
You feel a sudden jolt of nothing short of the raw power of
divine intervention. For some reason, you cannot bring yourself to move
quite yet, but feel relieved nonetheless.
You feel the touch of the hand leave your soul.
P>You groan.
P>Morgannia says, "Oh my."
P>You sit up.
R>You give Morgannia a friendly hug.
>Morgannia gives you a friendly hug.
>Morgannia says, "I tried."
>Morgannia sniffs.
>You ask, "Did a vine get you?"
You say, "One got hold of me and I could not get away from it."
>Morgannia just left.
(So much for swapping gruesome details of our glorious deaths!)
