are no obstacles to keep invaders from the monstrous tower, save for a lack
of courage.

Time passes slowly as my poor corpse is abused...
You find yourself wandering amidst endless streaming light and vast nothingness. This place feels torn between two powers, polar opposites vying for your loyalty. You are surrounded by the spirits of those who could not choose. The only way out seems to be through light or darkness.
Time has no meaning as you wander aimlessly amidst the uncomfortable tugging for your attention. Hopelessness washes over dreams you once held like the creeping tide of doom.
After what could be moments, or perhaps an eternity, the goddess Lorminstra finds you wandering in the endless space and speaks soothingly to you. She gently reassembles the pieces of your tattered soul and then, taking you by the hand, the goddess leads you back to mortality...
[Hall of Patrons, Rotunda]
Eight arches supported by gold-veined marble columns encircle this large rotunda.
A forged chandelier hangs suspended from the lofty, domed ceiling, illuminating
the room. Six pedestals form a small circle beneath the chandelier, in the
center of the rotunda.

Jantalar had occupied the Landing and the Mandis Crystal was preventing all magic. I was just trying to run through town to a safe spot when I spied poor Brinn.

The broad avenue intersects here with the narrower byway connecting to the
bazaar to the west, where occasional sounds of distant revelry rise from the
lamplit streets. Older wood and stone buildings, mostly small shops and offices
with upstairs lodgings overlooking the street, predominate here. You also
see a Jantalarian swordsman, a Jantalarian swordsman, some acantha leaf and
some ambrominas leaf.

smiling. Nattily-dressed dwarves wander in and out of one small shop. You

a lava golem that appears to be frozen in place and a dark stone gate.

My First OTF Death
Morgan had been foraging for mustard seeds for a bounty task. She's in her mid 80's and I'm level 75.

[Tiny Cottage, Back Garden]
This well tended garden in the back of the tiny cottage seems to specialize
in herbs both medicinal and culinary. Red clay paving stones provide a way
to navigate through the garden without crushing any of the carefully nurtured
plants and a high stone wall protects the plants from marauding intruders
from the surrounding woods. A heavy oak door provides entrance into the cottage
and a brick-lined footpath circles around the building to the east and the
west.

Visibility along the path becomes is challenging beneath the ancient overgrowth
of the woods. Massive trees seem weighted down by the aged and gnarled branches
that reach out from their trunks like huge outstretched arms grasping at the
blanket of leaves overhead. You also see a lich qyn'arj.

The qyn'arj is a creature of legend, a massive serpent held aloft on brightly
colored wings. But the lich qyn'arj before you has been animated by some means.
The qyn'arj's body seems to hover there without the need to beat its rotting
and mottled wings. Decaying flesh covers its body, but the head is completely
skeletal and polished to the fine white of bleached bone. Swirling red pinpoints
float where eyes used to be, and dagger sharp teeth can be seen inside its
maw.
Scary all right!

Two huge marble lions crouch on either side of the road, baleful gazes focused
to the east where additional representations of their kind form an honor guard
along a line of cracked marble pavement. To the west a pylon formed by a pair
of truncated pyramids opens out onto the surrounding forest. You also see
a shy woodland spirit that is flying around and an infuriated geyser spirit
that is flying around.

A cracked and weathered pylon marks the entrance into the ancient city. The
