Being the good geek that I am, I'm a huge fan of Xena. (I have the whole series on DVD.) While watching it through I noticed that there are a lot of similarities between the TV show and our beloved text game. So here's a list of things you'll find in both.

Characters wear the same outfits every day and even sleep in them.

In both worlds you can find heroes, villains, sidekicks, comic-relief, and extras.

Mortals are capable of superhuman feats.

Both have action, drama, sex, and comedy.

Women can be as strong as men.

Xena has saddle bags that are like GS cloaks - they don't look like much but they evidently hold a 100 pounds of stuff; the necessary and the frivolous.

You can tell who the bad guys are by how they dress, especially the skulls.

The gods like to toy with mortals and are often selfish and fickle.

Warriors like to wear skimpy outfits.

Characters can travel really long distances very quickly.

Heroes are willing to sacrifice themselves for their friends.

Just like Xena, Elanthian adventurers have many skills.

No matter where in the world characters go, they run into people they know.

Characters can fall from huge heights and survive the fall.

No matter how beat up the hero gets it barely slows him or her down.

One or two fighters can take on a horde of enemies and still win the battle.

No matter where the characters go, everyone can speak the same language.

Characters often engage in witty reparte in the middle of the action.

Potions, herbs, and antidotes heal instantly.

A lot of the dialogue and clothing isn't in-genre.

Dying doesn't mean the character stays dead.

And most of all, the bonds of friendship are the most important thing.
